I was thinking as I read this it was a very superficial discussion until I got to your last sentence and wham ...there you have it!

Indeed - "gaslighting to divert the attention from the rate increases resulting from the expansion of renewable generation"

That sums up the Permian Basin Reliability Plan and the STEP plan for the Texas grid expansion. "Gaslighthing" - $33 billion plus to the Texas rate payer gaslighting.... mostly to add generating ability to renewables on a thin rural system. A diffuse, land covering and low density system always needed more transmission and they have been working on it for years. First the CREZ lines, which didn't help during URI or the Odessa Incident with IBR cascading failures.

Then they were faced with datacenters - the perfect patsie!

All of a sudden ERCOT had their knickers in a twist and oil and gas association right behind them.

So the rate hikes will be real if people don't speak up! Over 71,000 acres will be covered with 765 kV lines and the industrialization of our land will continue.. with solar and wind, when we could just build gas generating plants in west Texas (where all the product is) and over come the small data center issues, since they seem to want to build out there going forward.

Don't forget data centers infringe on our fundamental rights. plus they are bad for our rights plus they are bad for our rights https://open.substack.com/pub/outlawedbyjp/p/a-dark-cloud-lingers-the-evil-youre
